The power of appreciation.
In the hectic world of banking, it could be easy for managers to get so busy they forget to tell their employees "Thanks for doing a great job." Not at Compass. We know the importance our employees play in our success — and we want to make sure they know how much they're appreciated.
We provide the training
employees need and want.
"I am a SUN-certified Java programmer and IBM-certified developer for XML-related technologies. In my area, technology changes fast, so it's important for me to keep up. Compass is willing to get me the training I need. It shows me that they value me. They're willing to put forth the effort to help me get where I want to be," says JJ.
Open communication promotes teamwork.
"My supervisors' doors are open all the time. They really welcome me to come to their offices and talk to them. They truly listen to me and my ideas. And if my idea makes sense, they use it. They recognize me for jobs well done — whether during special department functions or just day-to-day. All this shows me I am a valuable member of the team."
Annual Employee Celebration
Weeks push things over the top.
"One week each year is Employee Celebration Week throughout the whole company. In my area we get a letter of appreciation every day from different levels of managers. We also receive a small present each day. These items may not be expensive, but it's the thought behind the gesture that is of real value to me."
At Compass, we take nothing for granted — not our employees, not their hard work, and not the difference they can make to our organization.
