Making business banking
online safer for you.
At Compass, your privacy and protection are important to us. That’s why with Compass BusinessClass OnlineSM we incorporate some of the latest identification technology available with Compass Site IDSM.
What is Compass Site ID?
Compass Site ID is an online security feature that incorporates some of the latest identification technology available. This layer of security further protects you from identity theft and fraud because:
- It helps us identify that it's you signing on to Compass BusinessClass Online.
- At the same time, you know it's Compass and not a fraudulent Web site based on the information you select with Compass Site ID.
You set up your own Site ID by:
- Choose an image.
- Create a short phrase to associate with that image.
- Answer three security questions that can be used to identify you in the future.
You then choose to have Compass Site ID register the computer you're on. That way we will recognize it as a trusted computer for you in the future.
Your Site ID image, phrase and security questions help you verify that you're on the Compass Web site and help us verify that it's you signing on. For example, in the future, if the image and phrase you selected didn't appear on your Password screen, you would know that you should not enter your password, as you could be on a fraudulent Web site.
How does Compass Site ID work?
Compass Site ID breaks the
sign-on
process into three actions:
- Only your Nickname/User ID is submitted on the Compass BusinessClass Sign On screen.
- Site ID then verifies that you have designated the computer you are using as a trusted computer.
- When you're using a trusted computer, we show your Compass Site ID image and phrase on a Password screen.
If we don't recognize the computer you're on, we ask one of your security questions to verify your identity. When you answer correctly, you'll see the Password screen with your personal Site ID image and phrase.
